Weekend Shootout - Arab Street

Every now and then I'd like to make my way down to Arab Street, an area that's under the Kampong Glam conservation project. Apart from the Sultan Mosque which is a tourist draw for its architectural beauty, there are many places to explore in that area.

Apart from the nasi padang and Zam Zam's murtabak, you could also check out the many eating places offering Mediterranean as well as Middle Eastern fare (not forgetting the sisha!). You'd also come across some abandoned but interesting buildings en route to some of those eating places.

Well, that's all for now. And if you ventured to the other side you'd be at Haji Lane, a nice little stretch if you're into bohemian shopping.

Weekend Shootout - MPT Motorshow Pt 2

In true fashion, the MPT motorshow held at the National Stadium carpark featured a race queen competition. This being the first round, there were 24 contestants who battled it out onstage with their beauty as well as brains for the much coveted race queen titles.

"Eh, you sure this is the correct pick-up point?"

Arriving in style...

"Tag! This car's mine!"

"Sorry darling, but I was here first!"

Lets's face it ladies, there'll be photographers wherever you turn ;p
[Until the next round, ciao!]

Weekend Shootout - MPT Motorshow Pt 1

Fresh after last week's Evo Launch at the National Stadium, my friends and I found ourselves heading back to the Kallang area for the MPT Motorshow. Consisting of several events under one roof including auto-styling (zhng your car), race queen search and sprinting heats, the event was a definite photographic field day.

I doubt this was part of the auto styling exhibition but I seldom get to see Chryslers on the road except at import car shows. This must have belonged to the boss or one of the sponsors as they drove it away promptly after I snapped this pic.

Looks like Takumi-san doesn't have to deliver tofu today...

With the F1 night race just around the corner, the organisers are planning an extended category for those below the age of 12 years.
