Schweet Surprise

Got a pleasant surprise on Tuesday evening from the CTO's children when they visited the office. Each of us received a plastic cup which contained a bird's nest with a few eggs in them plus a paper bird.

This is the bird's nest when taken out of the cup. I found out from the HR manager that they bought a pack of oat bran cereal and melted a bar of Cadbury chocolate to bind the cereal to make the bird's nest. The eggs were purchased from Marks and Spencer while the the paper birds were hand-made by them.

Weekend Shootout - EVOISM

Headed down with friends to the East Entrance of the old National Stadium for EVOISM - the launch party for Mitusbishi's much anticipated Lancer Evolution X (EVO X).
Hosted by Class 95 DJs Jean Danker and Glenn Ong, the launch party featured a drift demonstration by the Group N Rally driver – Katsuhiko Taguchi. Other highlights of the event included three "kawaii" race queens who were flown in from Japan to spice up the occasion.

Once the floor opened, we made a beeline for the two EVOs on display to get some shots before the crowd filled in for the show and before the sun went down...

For those who couldn't afford the down payment for the EVO X, Hot Stuff magazine offered visitors the chance to have pix of themselves taken with the car together with their booth babes, with the magazine cover in the background of course!

Like all motoring events, our local race queens were on-hand to grace the event ...
But all that changed when the "kawaii" babes, who were flown in from Japan, arrived on stage and stole the show... Hey, they're not called "kawaii" for nothing ya know!

Also in the hot seat was Katsuhiko Taguchi, the stunt driver who wowed the crowed with his mad drifting skills. Some lucky members of the crowd were treated to a live demonstration by riding together with Taguchi-san during his demo rounds. Thankfully, none of the members of the cleaning crew were called in to clean the car's interior after each round...

And what did they have to say of the crowd and the event?
"Ichiban!"
