Weekend Shootout - Nikon D300 Testdrive Pt 2

Went out for supper with a friend who was leaving to further his studies. Chose Lau Pa Sat for the convenience of getting all the local fare under one roof. It was about 11pm+ when we sat down to indulge in satay, fried oysters and carrot cake. In between our food we also took the opportunity to try taking snapshots of the satay sellers using the high sensitivity ISO levels on the Nikon D300...

Photo Subject #1: Stall No 9, Pondok Satay

Photo Subject #2: Stall No 8, Best Satay

Mind you, none of these pix were taken using a flash unit. ISO setting as set to 6400 with shutter speed at 1/60 with aperture settings between 2.8 to 7 with a AF-S Nikkor 80-200mm 2.8 lens for these night shots.

Weekend Shootout - Nikon D300 Testdrive

Managed to gain access to the new Nikon D300 and decided to do a test drive. Unfortunately, the wet weather over the weekend meant shooting indoors so I decided to use my SIC (Super Imaginative Chogokin) Masked Riders G3 and G4 as subjects which I bought from the Falcon's Hangar two months ago. Mounted on a AF-S Nikkor 80-200mm 2.8 lens for the test shots.

The only grouse that I have about the Nikon D300 right now is that their RAW images (NEF) cannot be opened using Photoshop CS2 (the Adobe update only supports CS3). So, in order to process these pix, they had to be converted to DNG format and then use CS2 to edit them. Other than that, It's all good! ;p
