Weekend Shootout - The Matsuri 2008 Day Two Part 2

Thank god the rain cleared towards the evening else I would have had to leave the Matsuri for a wedding dinner with less pix (had no intention of shooting my friend's dinner; he paid someone else to do it). With the rain cleared everyone started coming out to the amphitheater and the atmosphere was heaps load better since there was more open space :)

Dressed to impress ya?

It's either the first time I'm seeing Pokemon cosplayers or I've not been very observant

Oooh! Blood elf! Rare appearance

For hire: Two maids that double up as bodyguards and a Polish Military trooper
Yay! The rain's gone, bring out the cake. Mmm... CAKE!

Excessive diarrhoea from too much cake? Fear not, her suppository will put a plug in it!
Enjoying the sun, and looking forward to the next cosplay event!

Weekend Shootout - The Matsuri 2008 Day Two

Damn! It had to bloody rain on the second day of the Matsuri... Luckily the rain stopped nearer towards the evening but apart from the lack of a wet weather program, it wasn't much of a washout. This batch was taken from inside Vivocity...

"Look, how would you like to stand like this for hours with this mega ton sword on one shoulder?"

With the rain not showing any signs of easing up, some decided to spend their time constructively...

Revision, revision, revision... *sweats*

And while waiting for the rain to stop, I came across two dollfies who allowed me to snap some pix of their children...

Stay tuned for the outdoor coverage!

Weekend Shootout - The Matsuri 2008 Day One

Yay another weekend consumed by pop culture; this time it's a two-day event titled the Matsuri 2008. Held at Vivocity's amphitheater, day one featured everything JRock, Punk and Gothic Lolita with live band performances and awards given out to the various best dressed categories. Things got off to a slow start with the crowd coming in only after 3pm though the event was touted to start from 11am to 10pm (though we noticed people starting to leave after 6pm). Yet, it was another photography field day...

Though there was an award for the best crossdresser, I only managed to get a pic of this guy. Perhaps the other photographers were much luckier than I was.

"The fish is mine, MINE!"

"Do I smell like a corpse?"

Taking a break from the festivities...

"Are you lost?"

"Darling, does this jacket make me look fat?"

"Rawk on baby!"

Siesta!

Right, and while waiting for day two to kick off, here's some parting words taken from a sign near the amphitheater...
