Some of my pix from the Cosplay Matsuri 2007 have appeared (used by permission) in October's issue of iKnow, a kid's educational magazine, for an article about blogging and cosplay.

Weekend Roadtest- Canon PowerShot S5 IS

Was handed a Canon PowerShot S5 IS by my god-father for a test run. Decided to try it out on Scooby, the family Shih Tsu.





Overall, it's a an easy to use point and shoot with good picture quality as seen from the various pics taken.

Weekend Shootout - SIN Preview

There was a Super Import Night (SIN) preview held outside Orchard Cineleisure during the weekend. Decided to go down to try out a 17-55mm lens that I borrowed.


The really cool bit about the photo shoot was the organiser saw me taking pix of the cars and invited me to take pix of their model, Iris who was more than willing to strike a pose.

And that's it for the weekend! Thanks to Larry and Iris for their time and patience. It was a really fun shoot.

The Big Bike no-show

Visited Suntec City on Sunday hoping to see some cool looking motorcycles at the Big Bike Show. But lo and behold! It was a no-show with only one bike and a four-wheeler on display..

The only stuff left worth shooting were the back boards...

Finally, there you have it! The only bike left on display but hey, the back boards were really cool. Plus, these were snapped with my trusty mobile phone.

Weekend Shootout - Hour Glass Tempus

Went to the Hour Glass Tempus at the Raffles City Convention Centre not to look for my next timepiece but to check out the android automatons by Francois Junod. These highly precise and detailed dolls are created with similar mechanisms and technical prowess used in the creation of Swiss watches.


Highly life-like, these dolls are able to imitate human movements and gestures with precise accuracy and detail. It's really hard to explain it in text or pictures and you really have to see these creations to appreciate them!


And of course, such a high profile event would attract a high profile audience. Not only were the most classiest watches on display, cars belonging to the event folks and prospective buyers were also on display outside the Swissotel...

Weekend Shootout - Games Convention Asia 2007

Followed my friends down to the Games Convention Asia 2007 held at Suntec City. Place was packed with people trying out the new titles on display as well as mad rushes for swag bags. Wasn't really keen on trying out any of the new titles so spent most of the time walking around and snapping pictures of promoters and cosplayers.

"Oi! Any J-Rock anthems to dance to?"

"Cherry points anyone?"

Nokia's making a comeback with N-Gage but as a service platform rather than a game deck (mine crashed and burned which would look like if this car was rammed straight into a wall...). Initial plans for a third generation game deck were scrapped years back following less than expected results. And here are the N-Gage promoters:

"I R serious pimp... I will pimp your handset to have N-Gage in it. Pimping your ride is totally optional."

10tacle Studios Asia went all out to dazzle the crowd with their offering of PC and hand held titles. Oh, and did I forget to mention models?

Met up with a friend and ex-colleague who went one-on-one with Quake player Rocketboy from Beijing in a 15 frag death-match at the Razer section complete with Razer promoters.
